Frequently Asked Questions

How do you work with new clients, and how much does it cost?
  • Phone Consultation (free):
We begin with a free 15-minute phone consultation (schedule here) to discuss your goals and answer any questions. If you decide to work with me, we schedule your initial session.
  • Initial Session ($180):
During our initial session, we will explore various techniques—such as CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Sound Healing, Inner Child Work, and Breathwork—to discover what best supports you.
Things to bring to your first session:
  • Calendar/smartphone for scheduling
  • Form of payment (Cash, Check, Venmo, or Credit Card)
  • A “beginner’s mind”
At the end of the visit, you can let me know if the work resonates with you. If it does, we can discuss frequency and supportive habits for between sessions.

What should I do/bring/prepare for our session?
SCHEDULING & PAYMENT
Bring your calendar for future bookings. I prefer to handle payment at the start of the session so you can remain in a relaxed state afterward. Cash is preferred; checks, Venmo, and Credit Cards are also accepted.

INTENTION
Spend 5 minutes the night before reflecting on your goals. Approaching the session with a “beginner’s mind” encourages a more open, coachable disposition.

WHAT TO WEAR
Loose, comfortable clothing. Yoga shorts, boxer briefs, or a sports bra (if applicable) are recommended.

SUBSTANCES & DIET
Avoid large meals, caffeine, alcohol, or pain medications within 3 hours of your appointment.

SCENTS & LOTIONS
Please abstain from perfumes, essential oils, menthol rubs, or heavy lotions/sunscreens on the day of your visit. Some clients have severe autoimmune reactions to lingering scents.

ARRIVAL
I do not have a waiting room. Please arrive exactly at your scheduled time and ring the bell.

  • Somatics: The Mind/Body Connection.

  • Presence & Allowance: Being here, now, with neutrality and curiosity.
  • Sound & Breath: Using vibration, music, and deep continuous breathing for regulation.
What am I supposed to do in between sessions?
While individual recommendations are tailored to each person, these four pillars benefit everyone:
  • Movement: At least 30 minutes of walking or exercise.
  • Hydration: Drink 60 ounces of water minimum.
  • Breath & Light: Deep diaphragmatic breathing. Also, try facing the sun with eyes closed for 3 minutes, 3x daily.
  • Nutrition: Eat enough clean, non-GMO calories for your age and activity level.
If any of these feel challenging, please reach out—I can help make these shifts more manageable.

Breathwork

Breathwork influences the autonomic nervous system, promoting relaxation or alertness by modulating heart rate, blood pressure, and stress levels. Controlled breathwork can foster balance and calmness within the body and mind, as well as assist in releasing stuck energy & emotion.

Sound & Music Therapy

Sound healing utilizes the vibrational frequencies of sound to promote relaxation, balance, and well-being. It involves the use of singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments to create harmonious vibrations that resonate with the body. Sound healing journeys are immersive experiences where individuals engage in sessions or workshops incorporating various sound tools, allowing them to embark on a transformative and meditative exploration of their inner selves through the healing power of sound.

Myofascial Release (MFR) - John F Barne's Approach

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a manual therapy technique that focuses on releasing tension and restrictions in the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs. Barnes' approach involves sustained pressure and stretching to facilitate the release of fascial restrictions, promoting improved flexibility, range of motion, and alleviation of pain. Addressing fascial restrictions can have positive effects on past trauma trapped in the tissue, as well as overall well-being by addressing the root causes of physical discomfort and dysfunction.
